CISCO Systems

OPPORTUNITY
Cisco sought an interactive agency that could design and develop, in a collaborative effort with their own content experts, a computer based training course. This course would be focused towards teaching new and current outside vendors certain Cisco tools, applications and processes that would be crucial in their time sensitive integration into the Cisco work environment.

The APPROACH
The first step was to determine the direction of the look and feel. Would we lean towards Cisco's traditional standard templates or go in another direction? The second step was to determine the primary users and what benefits this tool would provide to them and to Cisco. The last step would be collaborating with Cisco content experts and developing the course structure.

DIGITALwize SOLUTION

  Architecture would be html based for easy updating and delivery
   Designed a fresh look and feel that still communicated Cisco's messaging of
      bridging people through technology
   Incorporated a lesson and testing structure in order to gauge users
      comprehension of materials

RESULTS
The training course was welcomed with excitement from both the vendors and CISCO. The vendors no longer had to call different departments trying to find the information that they needed and CISCO head employees were no longer tied up on the phone for hours during a week period answering standard questions about were do I find this and how do I do that? New CISCO vendors could self-pace their learning through the course, determining and prioritizing what areas they needed to know in accordance to their job function. Test results at the end of sections would be forwarded to vendor contacts within CISCO, who could then determine if this vendor met certain criteria to move on with their job rolls or if they needed further training.

The Computer Based Course saved CISCO hundreds of man hours in a weeks period where before it was spent vested otherwise in one on one conversations with new vendors in regard to processes and procedures.
